CITY OF PHOENIX SMALL BUSINESS ASSISTANCE

The City of Phoenix Community and Economic Development Department offers two programs designed to help small businesses!!

Management Technical Assistance
In 1994, the Phoenix City Council established the Small Business Assistance Program to help small business owners address challenges and provide a one stop shop of technical and financial assistance.  For more information, visit phoenix.gov/econdev/growbus/mta/index.html.

The city's Expansion Assistance And Development Program (EXPAND) helps Phoenix businesses obtain loans from eligible local financial institutions. Here's how it works: EXPAND provides additional collateral for up to 25 percent of the loan, capped at $150,000. Business owners must create one job for every $35,000 of collateral provided by EXPAND and owners or principles provide a personal guarantee and at least 10 percent of the total project costs as equity. With EXPAND, the successful applicant/ borrower is able to receive a loan and the lender is in a more secure collateral position.  For more information, visit phoenix.gov/expand.
