Sphinx Educational Fund DEADLINE MAY 13th
1. Student must be a 2013 high school graduate.
2. Student must be a male of African-American/Black heritage or descent.
3. Student must be a U.S. Citizen and a resident of Maricopa County.
4. Student must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of (GPA) of 3.0
5. Student must provide written proof of their full-time enrollment at a college or university before funds will be released.

AMERICORPS VISTA SUMMER ASSOCIATES PROGRAM
June 3 – July 26, 2013

Applications are available now!

The Summer Associates program will be a short-term, direct service opportunity for 18-24 year-olds to work alongside Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix, City of Phoenix Parks & Recreation, and Mesa Public Schools staff in leading youth in educational activities to keep them engaged over the summer and produce summer learning gains.  Roles at these sites vary slightly but all members will provide direct-service support for summer youth enrichment programming.

Benefits

  • Monthly stipend of $946/month
  • Eligible for an Education Award of $1,174.60 or cash award of $230
  • Gain real work experience, training and development

The Arizona Community Foundation (ACF) online scholarship application portal is live, making opportunities for the school terms ahead available to students across the state of Arizona. ACF is Arizona's largest private provider of scholarship funding. 
Prospective Donors: If you are a donor looking for a way to support education in Arizona through a scholarship fund, please contact the Arizona Community Foundation.  

Through the ACF SCHOLARSHIP PORTAL:

  • Students have access to more than 70 scholarship awards with a single online application. The online system automatically matches the applicants with every scholarship opportunity within the system for which they qualify.
  • Students can apply as high school seniors, current college students, and graduate-level students attending schools anywhere in the United States.
  • Students may be awarded scholarships for two-year and four-year colleges and universities, as well as technical schools.

Applying Students: Go to www.azfoundation.org/scholarships to access more than $1 million in scholarships for all fields of study.


Students should apply early to qualify for the most awards.  Some application periods begin closing in February, while others remain open until as late as May.  

Some awards are given based on merit or financial need, while others are awarded to students in a particular geographic region or with specific demographic characteristics.
