EDUCATION ENRICHMENT EVENTS & ACTIVITIES |

The Arizona Alliance of Black School Educators monthly education seminar will take place on Thursday, October 18th from 6:00-7:30pm in the PRBC Word Center. Karen Crawford, author and founder of KomputerED Tools will speak on "Students Can Solve Every Problem". Educators of all levels and Parents are invited. Dinner will be served by Cafe Eden (cost $10.00). |

The Madame C J Walker Legacy Science Program has a few more spots available for young women 12yrs - 15yrs of age who would like to learn how to make their own Body Wash. This is a two-session class on Saturday October 20th and 27th 9:00 am to noon. Lunch will be provided. |

Adult Education Seminars for young adults ages 17 to 30 begins in August with Career Readiness. This is a three-week seminar on Saturdays, August 11th, 18th and 25th from 9:00am to noon. Class is limited to 25 students. Seminar topics include Resume Writing, Interviewing Strategies, Online Job Tools, Cover Letters, Elevator Speeches and Time Management. Also, GED classes will begin in September – details will be forthcoming. |

EARLY LITERACY SEMINAR for parents of children ages 0-5. Did you know that 90% of a child's brain is developed by age 5; and that talking to your children helps to develop their brain more than watching TV does? On August 11th, at 10am to 11:30am there is a seminar on the importance of Early Literacy in the Home. |

COMPUGIRLS is a FREE program for girls ages 13-18 through Arizona State University. Participating girls will use technology such as iMovie, iPhoto, and GarageBand to create media in a fun learning environment. Lunch and transportation will be provided. Information Session on Tuesday, July 10th, 6pm-7pm, in the PRBC Word Center. |

Registration is also open for our Summer Reading Camp for First through Sixth grade students. Camp dates are July 17th - 19th from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Students will explore the world through reading and increase their comprehension, public speaking, and writing skills. |
